Making a difficult choice can seem harrowing when you feel you're working alone. Involve others in your decision making by asking for criticism and seeking advice from those who can approach the choice from a fresh perspective. Listen to opinions that fall on both sides of the topic at hand. You may also want to consult an expert. 2. Learn from your mistakes as well as your triumphs. Examine decisions you have made in the past as they will teach you more than you will learn from most other sources. Though some decisions will not seem important, all decisions shape our lives and should be regarded as educational. Apply that knowledge to your current dilemma. 3. A good decision acted upon in a timely matter is always better than a great one acted upon too late. It is important to recognize that you will never know enough to make the perfect decision. Don't become paralyzed by your need to foresee all possible outcomes to every possible choice. 4. Involve your head and your heart. Ask both practical questions and personal questions about the problem at hand. Considering the facts as well as your feelings (and the feelings of others) when examining your options will ensure that you make a balanced decision. 5. Before anything else, focus on the most basic, necessary results. Often, a decision maker will get bogged down thinking about the non-essential elements of a decision. Avoid considering extraneous factors and far-fetched perfect outcomes. Ask yourself, "What needs to be done?" 6. Consider the entire range of possibilities, no matter how unlikely. When faced with a complex decision, brainstorm by yourself or with others to find as many of the vital elements as possible. Evaluate those elements as they relate to the choice you must make. 7. It was a wise person who noted that, "you can't please all of the people all of the time." Almost all decisions will involve some dissatisfaction or conflict. Some decisions may even create new problems. Once you have made a decision, stand by it. Keep in mind that you have used your best judgment and it was the best choice at the time. 8. Don't waste time on poor choices. Reject poor choices, even if you've begun to implement them, and stop doing the things that aren't working, so you can focus on the solutions that have strong potential. 9. Consult with the people who will be directly affected by your decision. People appreciate being heard and enjoy when their opinions are seen as valuable. Even making a simple choice can have a profound impact on those around you. 10. It is easy to dismiss your intuition, but in doing so, you may be disregarding valuable insight and even solutions. Ask yourself what choices you would make if you weren't afraid and then see what your subconscious offers as an answer. Try to ignore the fear of error when consulting your "gut." si Monyet @ 5/17/2005 10:10:00 AM Monday, May 02, 2005 Called Fiona at like 7 am, she just woke up... picked her up and went to Sandi (sideways), Christina (Sandi's sister, facing the cam), and Mel's back... Oh come on Dorothy, don't be so mean... just a nice pic of you... without the finga! And then all of us Jared (with his new Gameboy advance), Katrina, and Christina. So the meeting ended at 12... and we couldn't wait to get the hell outta there... I think our store was the only store where every member stuck together for the whole time we were there... maybe cuz of the small number of staff or cuz we all felt comfortable with each other... like a family... awwwwwww They made me go on Dragon Fire first thing... IT WAS HELL! I was soooo fringgin' scared! I think I dropped a tear... uugghh! Dammit... n then they made me go on the Wild beast or sumthing... they said it was much better than the Dragon Fire... HELL NO! I banged my head against Fifi's... it hurt like hell! That's it! No more rides for me... I wasn't even allowed time to think for myself... That's enuff rides to last me another 3 yrs or so. Brrrrrr... horrible! N then they all wanted to go on Vortex, I think… and I said I didn't wanna go. Dorothy n Haidy dragged me to line up... I wanted to cry... Fifi didn't even stick by me... So I panicked... and when I heard that Katrina wasn't goin either, I was glad... hahaha... she felt sick... n I felt sick too! So it worked out fine... yayyyy The guy at the water gun stand was freezing and he demanded to be put on break. Poor guy... n then we did the water thing (forgot what it's called) and Sandi won Homer... whoopiee! Arturo (sitting down, from Store #334), Rhob with arms spread out, Steve (can't u tell? He's the tallest!), and Sandi's back. We lined up for Spongebob 3D... it was raining and we all stood very close under Dorothy's small umbrella. After like 30 mins, we finally got in. It was sooo much fun. And then we went to the direction of Top Gun... Jared n I stayed behind... Steve n some others went on the arcade, shot some basketball. Mel went on Top Gun twice... very proud of herself. Top Gun ... sooo scary! I chickened out... with Jared hahaha And then some went on Tomb Raider... Brrr... no thx! They went on so many roller coaster rides, it made me sick just looking at the rides from below... Uugghh! We had hotdogs... foot-long hotdogs... sooo long, but was good! N then Rhob did one of his funny walks... I taped it... but I can't post it here... too big a file. Jared mocking the cool Asian way... Fiona looked up from playing gameboy. And then I went on Klockwerks with Haidy, Mel, Fifi and Jared... it was sooo relaxing... but even when I was closing my eyes, I got dizzy and thought "even if I had wings, I don't think I'd fly". Mel, Fiona, Jared, Haidy, n me... we went on this ride... hahaha... so relaxing... but I felt giddy afterwards... uggh! And then Fifi n I wanted to go on the Carousel (I know, embarrassing!) and everyone was walking away. Then finally Katrina, Jared, n Sandi joined us... wow! Fifi n I got the carriage and Sandi, Katrina, n Jared got the horses. Woohoo! The No-Thrill ride... yeah! Gosh that ride felt like forever... Fiona n I... on the carriage... Italian Job... none of us went hehehe We had funnelcakes... it was a LOT... felt sick afterwards... "I want real food! I want meat!" Said Dorothy. What else did we do? Hmmmmmmmmmm... well, Sandi, Jared, Katrina, Chris and Mel went home at about 5.30... Sandi had to close the store... Sam was working alone the whole day... thx Sam, it wouldn't have been possible without ya. The rest of us left at about 6... soooo tired! Here are more pics. Enjoy... Dorothy mocking the cool (... NOT) Asian way... brrrr Steve, Art, Rhob, n Sandi's back (left to right) Haidy, Me, Rhob, n Fiona Just water... why did I take this? Mhh... whatever... Nice head, Dorothy... lovely shiny hair ^.~ What were u doin with that stranger, Dorothy, huh??? Rhob n Dorothy...at the entrance... we were about to leave... taking last pics Dorothy n Haidy sleeping in the van on the way back... everyone was sooo tired...
